Bereavement in Schools
Death is part of life.
Covid-19 has been a stark reminder of how we live our lives with this truth never far from our minds.
Some of our teacher colleagues have tragically died from the disease.
Some children and young people have died. Mercifully, very few.
Sadly, colleagues and a small number of children have died of other causes.
A death in the school community is one of the most difficult life events to cope with.
Especially if a pupil has died.
We offer you this PowerPoint which you can design and customise for staff in your school.
It includes strategies that schools have used to celebrate the deceased's life,
to acknowledge their death, and celebrate their life.
Download it by clicking on the green button below the title slide.
Below the PowerPoint are links to 8 short YouTube videos (maximum 4 minutes) we made
on topics covered in the PowerPoint.
