There is Another Way
Headteachers' Conference
Brought to you by Every Teacher Matters and the Teach Well Alliance
Suneta Bagri: Every Teacher Matters
Steve Waters: Teach Well Alliance
Led by Jeremy Hannay: Headteacher of Three Bridges Primary School, Southall, West London
"There is no pupil wellbeing, there's no pupil achievement, there's no pupil collaboration, there's no pupil collective responsibility, there's no pupil anything until the adults experience it first."
There are schools that are taking a different path to achieve success. Their headteachers believe that high-stakes accountability, monitoring and micromanagement are destroying teachers' lives and the lives of the children they teach. They believe that the retention and recruitment crisis is a consequence of putting teachers under constant scrutiny and comparing schools results with other schools in league tables. At the root of the problem, these headteachers argue, is the Ofsted inspection regime and the damage it inflicts on teachers and schools in their attempt either to remain Outstanding or to strive to achieve it.
You attended this conference because you are one of these headteachers.
The There is Another Way conference gave you the opportunity to walk an alternative path with colleagues who share their vision of leading a school with collaboration, heart and community at its core.
During the conference, you:
It is time to create 'another way' of leading our schools to success.
50% of your fee after expenses was donated to the teachers' charity 'Education Support'.
Thank you for your donation of £500!
